"Jackie Gardner knows all about dirty little secrets. Now that she's landed an internship with a powerful political consulting firm, she's determined to launch her career and take this city by storm.
William Andrew Clayton was born for politics. He knows the drill: work hard, play discreetly, and at all costs, avoid scandal. At twenty-six, his campaign for the Virginia State Senate is the first step to cementing his future. It's time for him to settle down, to find the perfect political spouse. He needs a Jackie Kennedy, not a Marilyn...
When Jackie meets Will in the bar of the Hay-Adams Hotel, sparks fly. But the last thing Will needs is to be caught in a compromising position, and an affair with a political candidate could cost Jackie her career. When what began as one steamy night, becomes a passion neither one of them can walk way from, they must decide if what they have is really love, or just another dirty little secret..."
I absolutely adore Chanel Cleeton's books. I've read them all so far and more than once. Flirting with Scandal was just as good as her first series. Often I end up with the fear that a new series by an author I love won't be as good and I won't have the urge to pick up their next book. Chanel Cleeton definitely did not disappoint. You can tell the amount of effort that went into this book so that it would be just as good as her International School series.
“Anyone would be lucky to be involved with you. I'm lucky you kissed me. So fucking lucky.”
This book is so hot! It is about politicians and Will was everything that you don't hear that politicians are. I'm always reading about these wealthy, rich guys who marry for status and don't end up giving a rat's ass about their wives or vice versa (I'm currently reading series with this exact plot...) and if they develop the plot enough to make it unique it can be enjoyable, but most of the time we are stuck with the same boring stuff. Will and Jackie's relationship was different--we saw some of the marrying for status situation in this book but it didn't permeate the book. Their relationship was just so interesting and enjoyable to read. Will definitely has become a favorite male character.
“I want you to be scared. I want things to be messy, and complicated, and difficult. I want you to feel, and I want you to know I’m the one making you feel, that I’m the one making it mean something.”
My favorite aspect of this book wasn't the romance, even if it was written well, it was learning more about politics (Definitely going to help somewhat in AP Government and Politics class). While Chanel doesn't try to confuse the reader but adding all this complicated stuff, it made me want to look up more about the political process.

I would definitely suggest picking up this book or any of Chanel Cleeton's book. All of her characters are written very realistically and her plot lines are amazing. She is one of my favorite new adult writers and I pick up everyone of her reads as soon as they come out...even if I don't write their reviews right away. (SORRY!)

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars!!
