ARC Review: Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2)Author: Jamie McGuire
Publisher: Atria Books
Number of Pages: 433

Synopsis:

"Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.
In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.
Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes."
I am so happy I got to read this book! I know I didn't have to wait as long as others, but let me tell you that the wait is so worth it. I don't know what the deal is with McGuire but she writes damn amazing books!

Yes! It is time we get to see the whole story through Travis's eyes! This book was so worth waiting for. I knew basically everything that was going to happen. I'm not really sure if I enjoyed this book more than the first one. I felt more connected to Abby then I did Travis. I love Travis from the bottom of my heart but it just wan't the same as reading about the characters and the plot for the first time.

I loved how this book had all the qualities that make a book great. The pace was perfect. You could connect with the characters. I like that I got both sides of the story. I constantly read books where the whole in book is only in one character's point of view and I'm dying to know what the other character is thinking. I felt that way while I was reading Beautiful Disaster and when I read this everything just got sorted out in my mind.

When I finished reading this some of my friends asked me whether it is worth re-reading like I did with Beautiful Disaster, my answer? HELL YES! I freaking love Travis, Abby, Shep, and America. Jamie McGuire should write a book about America and Shepley or one of Travis's brothers. I would be all over that book.

I really have no idea what I could say about this book without saying this same things that I said in my Beautiful Disaster review. If you guys want to see that you can click here.

Go read this book! I HIGHLY recommend  this book. No joke. Though, if you haven't read Beautiful Disaster then read that first THEN read this. Enjoy!

Review: 4 out of 5 stars!!

  1. I can't wait to get my copy of this! I really want to read it from Travis's POV because Abby was a bit of a whiner. Great review!
